Université de la Terre 2025 – The Fondation Nexans opens up to the world
Mar 21, 2025
Over 10000 people came to Université de la Terre on March 14th and 15th 2025
As a partner of the Université de la Terre 2025 event, held on March 14 and 15, Nexans was eager to involve the Fondation in this initiative. Guided by its theme Nature = Future, which perfectly aligns with the Fondation’s commitments, these two days provided an opportunity for enriching encounters between Mary Malone, General Delegate of the Fondation Nexans, and the general public. Here’s a look back at this remarkable event.
A prestigious setting for a vital cause
What better venue than UNESCO to showcase our actions to the world? Located in the heart of Paris, this international institution hosted Université de la Terre, a key event dedicated to the major challenges threatening our planet, life, and social cohesion.
As a partner, the Group provided a stand during the two-day event, offering the Fondation Nexans a prime platform to present its work in support of sustainable electrification.
A booth dedicated to the Fondation’s actions
This was a first for the Fondation, participating in such an event. At the booth, visitors had the chance to discover:
- The Fondation’s mission, structured around three key action pillars
- Key figures: countries covered, projects carried out, partner NGOs, and beneficiaries
- Images and videos illustrating the tangible impact of supported initiatives, particularly with AMESIP in Morocco and TECHO in Peru
These interactive materials sparked many engaging discussions and exchanges.
A Strong Presence with Christopher Guérin, CEO of Nexans
One of the highlights of the event was the participation of Christopher Guérin, CEO of the Nexans Group, in a sold-out conference titled "Who Will Save the Planet: Politicians, Citizens, or Companies ?" During his speech, he emphasized the Fondation’s role, which significantly increased public interest and attracted many visitors to the stand.
Inspiring Encounters with a Diverse Audience
Throughout the two days, the Fondation’s stand drew a diverse audience: students, association members, Fondation leaders, and curious visitors, all eager to learn more about the Fondation’s initiatives.
On Saturday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Ange-Eric Kouassi, founder of the NGO Shekina, a partner of the Fondation Nexans since 2019. Thanks to her, visitors gained insight into how the Fondation collaborates with the associations it supports. Her dedication and testimony highlighted the human impact of our actions.
“ The outcome is very positive. We are delighted by the enthusiasm participants have shown for the Fondation Nexans and its mission. Our projects are meaningful and align with the event’s theme Nature = Future. The Fondation Nexans truly belongs at this event, as we contribute to more sustainable electrification, and the public clearly understood that. I hope the Fondation will have more opportunities to raise awareness among a broader audience. ”
