EcoSwell
EcoSwell is an NGO that designs and implements socio-environmental, educational and infrastructure projects, with the purpose of guiding the development of rural and semi-rural localities along the paths of sustainable development and increasing the quality of life of its inhabitants. Its development approach comprises three aspects:
- The conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, ecosystems and natural resources.
- Participatory processes with inclusion and gender equity.
- Economic well-being.
They have developed more than 19 projects covering ten of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and have improved the lives of more than 30,000 people, not only Lobitos, but in eight communities distributed in the north and south of Peru.
In 2022, the Nexans Foundation decided to invest 40,000 euros in the project presented by Ecoswell, which consists of installing a UPS system (uninterruptible power supply systems) of photovoltaic energy in the medical centers of Talara in order to favor more than 100 thousand inhabitants.
