As we welcome 2025, let’s take a moment to look back at some of the highlights of the past year. From Peru to Côte d'Ivoire, from Morocco to Colombia, remarkable projects were completed, and inspiring stories were shared.

10 years of presence in Peru and solar-powered medical centers

In 2024, the Fondation Nexans celebrated a decade of significant achievements in the Andean country. In April, Indeco by Nexans and the Fondation marked this milestone by partnering with local governments and NGOs to host  an event titled "Energy as a bridge to development". This gathering reflected on progress made over the past ten years and identified the steps for the future.

These results inspire continued efforts to sustainably electrify the country’s most remote regions.
In September, this commitment was further demonstrated  with the inauguration of the Suyo Medical Center in Northern Peru. This facility, which provides care to nearly 14,000 patients, now benefits from a state-of-the-art solar power system, funded and installed through the joint efforts of Indeco by Nexans and the Fondation Nexans, in collaboration with the EcoSwell NGO.

Colombia, Chile, Brazil, Peru—All volunteering

Volunteer days in 2024 brought together Nexans across South America, including Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Peru. This joined efforts resulted in the  installation of reliable, sustainable lighting systems for communities in need.

Morocco: the Shems'y village inaugurated during Nexans Climate Day

For its fourth Climate Day, and the first in Africa, Nexans joined hands with  Nexans Morocco and the Fondation Nexans to support the electrification of the Shems'y village.
This village, built to house orphans affected by the devastating earthquake in Morocco on September 8, 2023, embodies resilience and sustainable development.

As the winner of the Fondation Nexans's 2024 Call for Project, this innovative initiative exemplifies the Climate Day vision to "build a sustainable future."
More than just a shelter, the Shems'y village provides a nurturing environment  where the 144 children can grow, learn, and rebuild their confidence.

“ We chose protection, but also support, to ensure these children grow to become the enlightened citizens of tomorrow. This collective effort proves that when hearts unite, nothing is impossible.” ”

Contributing to Talent Development Worldwide

In 2024, the Fondation Nexans, in partnership with the IECD (European Institute for Cooperation and Development),  launched a sponsorship program inMorocco, Lebanon, and Côte d'Ivoire. This initiative aims to  develop the talents and skills of over 2,000 young people.
In July 2024, 25 students from Morocco took part in an immersive day at the Nexans factory in Mohammedia. This hands-on experience exposed them  to the reality of industrial jobs, ultimately promoting their professional integration.

The benefits of this initiative are numerous:

  • For students :  It provides practical applications of theoretical knowledge and a better understanding of the professional world.
  • For the Foundation:  It represents a major educational initiative supported by the commitment of Nexans employees.
  • For the IECD: It establishs stronger links with the business world to enhance the employability of the beneficiaries.

Thanks to the commitment of the IECD and the Fondation Nexans, these students are on their way to contributing to the electrification of the future.

Festicharité: Recognizing the Fondation Nexans’ impact

As a long-time partner of the Shekina NGO in Côte d'Ivoire, the Fondation Nexans has contributed to the electrification of 18 health centers across the country. These sustainable and reliable installations ensure uninterrupted access to quality healthcare.
During the Festicharité charity event held from September 3 to 7, 2024, the Fondation Nexans received an award in recognition of its impactful work.  This recognition underscores Nexans’ steadfast commitment to empowering communities in need through energy and innovation.
