The Fondation Nexans and Shekina electrify health centers in Ivory Coast
May 23, 2023The Fondation Nexans and the Shekina association have partnered once again to electrify three health centers in the northeastern part of Ivory Coast, through the "Solar Energy for Better Health in Ivory Coast" project.
In April, 2023, Nexans Ivory Coast held a press conference at its new industrial site in Yopougon PK 24. An occasion to highlight Nexans' activities in the country and to focus on the partnership between the Fondation Nexans and the Shekina NGO.
Shekina has led several projects in the field of education, agriculture, entrepreneurship, health, sustainable development, and women's empowerment. Over the course of their 10-year partnership with the Fondation Nexans, 14 health centers have been electrified, benefiting approximately 70,000 people in five regions of Ivory Coast.
In 2022, the "Solar Energy for Better Health in Ivory Coast" project facilitated the electrification of three healthcare centers in Bole, Lagbo Tadjote, and Govitan, located in Tehini (Boukani region). By installing photovoltaic panels, these medical facilities can now provide round-the-clock health access to 15,000 beneficiaries.
“ I'm proud of the positive impact on the local community brought by this joint project, financed by the Foundation and the Shekina association. ”
Nestor Antey
