Nexans France employees contribute to the financing of an additional project for the Nexans Foundation!
Sep 10, 2018A raffle was held in September 2018 to raise funds for the Nexans Foundation.
Before leaving the Group, Arnaud Poupart-Lafarge (Chief Executive Officer of the Nexans Group and President of the Nexans Foundation) put his electric scooter into play, raising nearly 8,500 euros for the Foundation.
Thanks to this exceptional envelope, the Foundation is supporting an additional project for 2018 with the Electriciens sans Frontières association.
The project consists of the renovation of the electrical installation of the Lycée Saint Charles Lwanga in Ziguinchor, in the Casamance region of Senegal.
The aim of this operation is to contribute to improving the educational conditions of the 500 high school students and thus limit the exodus to the city of Dakar. Quality training is indeed the entry point for professional integration and the creation of activities in this region in the midst of economic recovery.
The completion of the maintenance work will be entrusted to the students of the neighbouring technical school, supervised by Electriciens sans Frontières. The acquisition of experience and know-how is also complementary to academic training.
Work is scheduled for spring 2019.
