As part of its ongoing commitment to advancing education, the Fondation Nexans has supported numerous initiatives aimed at empowering young minds. One such initiative is the "Fun Electricity Project," developed by the Türkiye Eğitim Gönüllüleri Akif (TEGV). This innovative project, designed for children aged 8-14, combined interactive tools, games, and real-world applications to make learning about electricity both fun and accessible. Through its support, Fondation Nexans has helped this project reach thousands of children, bridging the gap between complex scientific concepts and everyday understanding, and continuing its mission to foster educational development across the globe.

A Focused and Impactful Program

The "Fun Electricity Project" was implemented over a nine-month period, from June 2021 to February 2022. During this time, TEGV developed a comprehensive online platform featuring a wide array of educational resources, including experiments, videos, animations, simulations, and games. These resources were designed to teach children about electricity, electrical circuits, and safe electricity usage in both Turkish and English.

Starting from December 2021, the website was made accessible to everyone, with a target to engage 3,500 individuals, including children, parents, and teachers. The platform was not just an educational tool; it became a community resource aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of electrical energy and promoting safe and efficient electricity use.

Interactive Learning: The Core of the Fun Electricity Project

TEGV crafted the project’s content to ensure that children could grasp the basics of electrical energy, which they encountered in their daily lives. By engaging with interactive modules like the "Magnet Explorator," "Static Explorator," and "Electric Circuit Explorator," children learned to use electrical energy efficiently and consciously. The educational games, such as "My Very Attractive Magnet" and "Light Up My House," reinforced these lessons by making learning an enjoyable experience.

Moreover, the project placed a strong emphasis on safety. Children were taught to recognize and avoid dangers such as playing near vehicles, interacting with open cables, or inserting metal objects into sockets. This focus on safety ensured that children not only understood how electricity worked, but also how to protect themselves from potential hazards.

A Platform Backed by Global Support

The project's success was made possible by the backing of Fondation Nexans, whose support was instrumental in bringing the initiative to life. This partnership underscored the foundation's commitment to educational advancement and its recognition of the importance of early engagement in science and technology.

As the world continues to evolve, the need for innovative educational tools like the "Fun Electricity Project" becomes increasingly clear. By making science accessible and enjoyable, TEGV laid the groundwork for a future where children are not just consumers of technology but creators and innovators. Supported by Fondation Nexans, this initiative stands as a shining example of how targeted educational programs can inspire the next generation of thinkers and problem-solvers.
