As part of its core initiatives, Fondation Nexans has forged a strong partnership with the Institut Européen de Coopération et de Développement (IECD). On July 25th, Fondation Nexans provided an immersive experience for 25 aspiring electrical engineers from IECD, inviting them into the heart of the Nexans Morocco plant in Mohammedia. This initiative was further enriched by the active involvement of Nexans Morocco employees who volunteered as mentors in the Fondation Nexans-supported mentorship program.

A day of discovery and learning

From the moment they arrived, the students were introduced to the paramount importance of safety in an industrial setting. A guided tour of the Mohammedia production unit followed, where the future engineers witnessed firsthand the various stages of cable manufacturing.

To deepen their understanding, the students were divided into small groups, each exploring different sections of the production line in detail. This hands-on approach encouraged active engagement, allowing students to ask questions and interact directly with industry professionals.

The afternoon culminated in Nexans' Safety Day, where students joined company employees in interactive workshops focused on the 15 golden safety rules. This immersion significantly enhanced their understanding of workplace safety, complementing their academic knowledge with practical insights.

A partnership dedicated to education and training

The partnership between Fondation Nexans and the IECD reflects a shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of industrial talent. The involvement of Nexans Morocco employees as volunteers in the mentorship program further strengthens this collaboration. These mentors guide students, sharing their expertise and experience to help them navigate the challenges of their educational and professional journeys.

By providing students with the opportunity to experience a real industrial environment and benefit from personalized mentorship, Fondation Nexans is equipping them with the essential skills and knowledge needed for successful integration into the professional world.

For IECD, this collaboration enriches the theoretical training provided within the institution with practical, hands-on experience and guidance from experienced professionals, bridging the gap between education and industry.

The benefits of this experience

For Students:

  • Gaining practical knowledge,

  • Discovering the industrial world,

This promising partnership opens the door to future collaborations between Fondation Nexans and the IECD, ultimately benefiting both the students and the Moroccan industry. As part of Fondation Nexans' broader commitment to education, this initiative highlights the importance of connecting educational institutions with industry to prepare students for real-world challenges and providing them with mentorship that can guide their professional growth.
